Tannice McCoy was appointed General Manager of NewRange Copper Nickel in February 2023. She was formerly Manager, Mesaba Project, Minnesota, for Teck Resources Limited, whose primary responsibility was to build a technical, social, environmental and commercial project team and associated business case for Mesaba as part of Teck’s industry leading copper growth portfolio. Other recent work responsibilities have included: Manager, Engineering, Prefeasibility Studies, San Nicolás Cu-Zn (Ag-Au) deposit, Mexico, and Project Manager, CESL Hydrometallurgy Technology, responsible for developing, designing, engineering, building, and operationalizing pilot and demonstration-scale, environmentally-sustainable, hydrometallurgical process test plants for Teck and its customers.
Ms. McCoy has developed the business relationship and joint venture partnership with PolyMet Corp. and Glencore plc to advance the development of the NorthMet and Mesaba deposits in northern Minnesota. She has invested her time in Minnesota for the past 5 years developing close working relationships with a wide range of industry groups, service providers, key stakeholders, environmental groups, regulators, Tribal Governments and community groups as part of a collaborative, open-doors approach to responsibly advancing the development of the next generation of critical mineral natural resources serving the North American and global marketplace.
Ms. McCoy attended the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) and holds a Masters Certificate in Project Management from York University, Schulich School of Business. She is active in the mining industry as a Hydrometallurgy Section Committee member for the Canadian Institute of Mining & Metallurgy (2017-present) and is a speaker to select industry events on hydrometallurgical processing, specifically in respect of solvent extraction-electrowinning. She is married to Sean McCoy and has a daughter currently attending the University of British Columbia and an adult son living/working in Vancouver, BC. She enjoys baseball, hiking, golfing, skiing, competitive curling and is an avid traveler.
