Donald performs early project de-risking and value adding across the Glencore Copper operations, and joint ventures portfolio. He is a Chartered Professional Engineer with a BSc. Degree (Honours) in Geotechnical Engineering and an MSc in Mining Engineering, both from UK universities and is also a Registered Mine Manager and a Registered Constructor.
Donald is Married to Annet for 21 years and they have two daughters in the final years of high school and who compete in racquet sports and basketball.
The family together enjoy adventure travel most recently in South America.
Donald has completed assignments in major mining and infrastructure developments across 5 continents, he first joined Glencore in 2009 as Project Director for a coal export facility in Colombia. He has held his current position in Glencore since 2019, is a member of several project steering committees for active projects and works closely with the business development team.
Donald is passionate about contributing to the creation of safe, cost efficient, innovative, and responsible mining developments that are accretive to the de-carbonisation-transition, the environment, communities, and stakeholders and ultimately deliver a planned positive legacy at closure.
